Skione was a minor city on the southern coast of the Pallene Peninsula, the westernmost headland of the Chalkidiki. Its impressive tetradrachms showing the Achaian hero Protesilaos on the obverse were struck in the years after the Persian Invasion of 480-479 BC, when Skione forsook its Persian overlords and joined the Delian League.
